We’re proud to announce that Amnesty International’s tribute album Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan is now available. It’s a four-disc record with 76 tracks, and all benefits go to Amnesty International and its campaigns for human rights around the world.
For the album, we recorded one of our personal Dylan favorites (there are so many), “Boots of Spanish Leather,” originally released in 1964 on The Times They Are a-Changin’.
You can stream the entire album on Amnesty International’s Facebook Page. You can also learn more HERE.

Over time, we’ve learned that there are some things we just have to do, no matter how uncomfortable or how distasteful they may be. You know, pay your dues, Airborne. So, with that in mind, and to our great dismay, we find that we have no choice but to journey to the dismal, gloomy island kingdom of Hawaii for two shows at the end of January.

We’ll be performing at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center Castle Theater in Maui and the Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu on January 20 and 21, respectively. Pre-Sale for both shows begins at 10am TOMORROW MORNING (11/10).
Fri Jan 20 – Kahului, HI (Maui) – MACC Castle Theater – PRE-SALE AT 10AM TOMORROW MORNING (11/10) (link will be live then)
Sat Jan 21 – Honolulu, HI – Hawaii Theatre – PRE-SALE AT 10AM TOMORROW MORNING (11/10) (link will be live then)

Here’s the brand-new video for our song “All I Ever Wanted,” directed by Jon Danovic, and featuring Jesse Hoy and Nora Kirkpatrick. The video, like the song, is loosely based on the short story “The Hitchhiking Game” by Milan Kundera.

We’re very excited to be premiering the new video for our song “All I Ever Wanted” this Friday on Vevo.
The video is a loose retelling of the short story “The Hitchhiking Game” by Milan Kundera. It was shot in the hills in the middle of nowhere, north of L.A. We’re indebted to the very talented actors Jesse Hoy and Nora Kirkpatrick. Here’s a sneak peek:

We’re very excited to announce that we’ve added Built to Spill to the opening lineup on the main stage of our LA 101 show at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on October 23. It really is an honor to be sharing the stage with a band we’ve loved and respected for so many years.
Also, rumor has it that we will be playing with a full orchestra..
Rounding out the opening lineup: Tokyo Police Club and Delta Spirit. Seriously, we can’t wait.

We’ve been asked to open for fellow Angelinos Jane’s Addiction for a sold-out show at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre tomorrow, Tuesday, October 4.
It’s an honor for us to be able to share the stage with one of the greatest bands of all time. They’ve been the quintessential soundtrack to a great deal of heartbreak and hell-raising…
For instance..

We are damn thrilled to announce that Tokyo Police Club and Delta Spirit will be joining us on the main stage at our LA 101 show at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on October 23. These are two of our favorite bands, likely, two of your favorite bands also. What a night. We can’t wait.
Playing earlier on the outside stage will be our dapper, bearded friends the Drowning Men and Electric Guest.
Tokyo Police Club – “Your English is Good”
Delta Spirit – “Strange Vine”

Some songs, you don’t remember when you first heard them. They just seem to have always been there, in the background of your life. Everyone was already singing along, knowing when to go quiet and when to start screaming at the top of their lungs. Shit gets fucked up. That’s just how it goes sometimes.
Here’s the latest in our covers series: our homage to the beautiful mess that is Violent Femmes..

Since returning from our five-month tour, we’ve had some rest and time to reflect. In doing so, we immediately discovered that rest and reflection are totally overrated, and that flirting with chaos in faraway places is infinitely more rewarding (if prone to injury, arrest and well, chaos). So we pulled out a map and starting pointing at places.
Deep breath.
Without further ado, our Fall World Tour:
It includes dates all over North America and parts of the U.K., Ireland, and mainland Europe. A few highlights: the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, the Fillmore in San Francisco, Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, Terminal 5 in New York, to name a few..

For this second video of our acoustic covers series, we decided to take a suggestion by Ray on our website and perform “I Fought the Law,” written in 1959 by Sonny Curtis and made famous by Bobby Fuller in 1965 (pause, as we adjust our glasses). Naturally, our take is more a cover of the Clash’s 1979 version. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions. Keep them coming. We read all of them and subject them to a strict decision-making process involving darts and a bottle of whiskey.
