Just trying to tell a story. The story was about my first TATE show, in Richmond Virginia not long ago, we bought tickets to N.Y and D.C. before Richmond. My wife and i rarely got to shows anymore but we have seen our share. Anyhoot, we are eating dinner at the venue restaurant and i had just taken a bite of my crab cake, as i looked up my wifes eyes were about to pop out. I looked over my shoulder and there they were, all of them. First dan, then Noah, Steve, Anna (looked great), by the time Mikel came in my brain was on overload. I through up my arms and blurted out his name, I think i said michael but who the hell knows. What i didn't realize is that my mouth was full of crab cake, I see my idol, and then i spit shellfish at him. He was cool as aleways and smiled and waived to me and my wife, probably my wife. They were 5 feet from us, I almost ran and tackled him, but he's a pretty big cat and I wouldn't have minded getting beaten up by him but i let him slide. So then i just tried to gain entry into the radio interview they were doing. No dice, you spit crab at someone by accident and your labeled a trouble maker. He has numerous great sing along songs during the show, takes requests for songs, touches hands with the people in the front rows, and at some shows he crowd surfs. It's about the people who are in the audience. He is over 60 years old and plays more than 2.5 hours. U2 barely plays 2 hours and they are in their late 40s or early 50s. How many songs does U2 play on a tour? I think the option of songs from which to choose for their live cd (from their last tour) was around 55. Bruce played double and almost triple that number on his last tour.
