@JessicaSarahS and chimpanchee:
Thanks, we hope so too. My boyfriend and our friends said that the next time TATE plays nearby, we're all going again, and I'm definitely hoping to grab a shirt then (my usual concert memorabilia). My boyfriend and hers aren't huge fans, but we are, so they're gonna make sure to scrounge up some money and (earlier) transportation next time.
I personally do not blame the venue for anything but choosing a bad company (Staff Pro) to run the lines and everything. There were 6-8 sets of double doors per entrance, and only one open at each with one person checking women's bags, one person patting down men (badly I might add - my boyfriend said he got patted down with stuff in his pockets and they just told him to move along. What if he'd brought a weapon inside [not that he would have, mind you]?), and one person doing tickets. I heard people were still coming in when Death Cab and Florence went on (but I'm not positive) :o I mostly blame Staff Pro and not VVC (although my boyfriend has complained to both Staff Pro and VVC about the situation) because apparently this isn't the only time where Staff Pro has screwed concert goers. I (did the typical thing and) complained on Facebook about it while we were standing in line still, and a friend of mine said that Staff Pro is terrible, and only 'pro' at giving concert goers attitude - his girlfriend and some of her friends attended a concert last year somewhere in (Los Angeles? Pomona? No idea, just somewhere closer to us than SD), and they only bought tickets to see one of the first acts, A Day to Remember. They were there nearly an hour early, and due to Staff Pro's inefficiency with line control, they missed ADTR's set and ended up just kinda hanging out in the hallway for the remainder of the concert, not wanting to completely waste the $30 or so they spent, and when they complained, they got the same types of responses as we and the people around us did :/ The man that my group (and three-four others in front of us) were pissed at said that "it's not our problem people wait until the last thirty minutes of a show to show up and line up" (because it's not like anyone had to drive three hours and spend most of their day in traffic to show up for the show -.-;), and when asked, he refused to give his name or employee number, and he and another member refused to give the name of any supervisors, just saying "I'm not a supervisor." Well, that's just dandy, we weren't asking if you were -.-;;
I wish I had extra cash laying around...I'd just go show up at one of their Hawaii shows :X Hawaii in winter? Why the heck not? :3 But alas, I shall just wait until they come back around my way. I hope that if any of you guys are gonna be able to make any of their next shows that you all have a great time (and hopefully don't have to deal with Staff Pro's unprofessional staff :P)
