The Airborne Toxic Event debuted a new song, called "All I Ever Wanted," for the first time in the United States at The Rock in Tucson, Arizona. It was written by Mikel during the European leg of the band's tour, and the song is based on a short story.

The Verdict: This song is BEAUTIFUL. I love Anna's viola melodies and the vocals by Mikel, Anna, and Noah. The lyrics are so moving. It could be a new single!

Also, thanks to Henry Ruiz for putting it up! I love your videos!

The song sounded very familiar and I thought they played it at both Weenie Roast in Irvine and the Summer Round-Up in Santa Barbara. Then I found the interview from KROQs Weenie Roast today, and Mikel said Weenie Roast was the first time they'd played that song.

I'll have to find the link and come back with it. Great song!

OK...I guess I was wrong about the whole "debut" thing...

I just wonder what short story this song was based off of because I would like to read it. I really enjoyed the short story "The Girls in Their Summer Dresses"...one of the few short stories that I've read that felt like it had a solid conclusion.

I don't know if this'll work, but here's the vidoe from KROQ's Weenie Roast. Nicole Alvarez was drunk and stupid and I can't believe she wouldn't shake Anna's hand!

Damn, link won't work. Here's the website: http://www.kroq.com/

You'll have to look for KROQ concerts on the left, then Weenie Roast and then you can click through the interviews and TATE is the last one.

They said the song was just finished about a week before this show and that it was the first time they played it in the States.

The interviewer was not very professional. Besides, why WOULDN'T you want to shake Anna's hand?

It's cool how the band can create a new song and then quickly begin playing it live, though.

On the subject of interviews, here's one that Steven, Mikel, and Anna did for Wal-Mart Soundcheck:
