That's fantastic! =D
YAY!! I LOVE it!!
I'm afraid I must put on my zero prescription horned rim glasses that were a personal gift from Jazz Monroe of NME and declare in the strongest possible hipster terms : "Meh!" /sarcasm
See, this is the point, some people are running the album down and some people are running it up. It's not even close on some of the reviews. I think there are just a lot of people who don't "get" it because they don't understand what there is to get is basically simple: Emotive lyrics in a genre defying format. The more "specific" a publication thinks it is, the less they understand it. It's so ingrained upon them to discern the value that they fail to appreciate the music.
It's like telling someone a joke that they don't get...you can't make it funny by explaining what they didn't laugh at. Plus, I feel like most of the nay-sayers already had their minds made up anyway, possibly not willing to accept TATE as a real band because they didn't spend the last 12 years playing in venues where their name was misspelled on a chalkboard outside.
Okay so I was gonna write this big long thing about how they understood the album and some people don't, but Roclawzi beat me to writing a novel. Plus I have a headache, so I'm not going out of my way to think right now.
Well said, Roclawzi. I consider myself a pretty good writer, but I couldn't have possibly said it more succinctly than you did.
