please note, that without this forum I would never have met and stayed friends with people on here, never got to meet the band, never got invited to the after show party, never met girlfriends and family, never had photos taken ,never been put on the guest list for the london gig and never had the best time of my life......Thanks to coming on here....just don't have an opinion on anything that is said, don't try to provoke a conversation and don't try to be a bloody funny smart arse...welcome to NANNY TATE (pun intended)

Okay, this is a little bit of an overreaction. The comment you made was just plain rude, and although it was an opinion, it was mean-spirited and not at all constructive. You should be glad that it's deleted because it's demeaning and decreases people's opinion of you.

The people on here are just like you, they love The Airborne Toxic Event. I was under the impression that this forum was not only a place where we could express our passion for TATE, but our interest in other music as well. That thread was for discussing anything and everything related to their twitter account and that's exactly what was happening. Plus, your post wasn't even on topic.

Also, you're being kind of hypocritical when you rant about letting your opinion be heard. Gail was just voicing her opinion, who are you to tear that down? We should all support each other rather than post condescending and disrespectful remarks.

I know I'm not going to be very popular for saying this, and I have no idea what the remark was that Nigel (Airborne77) made because it was deleted. But having met him in person and spending time with both he and his wife, I have to say he really is a good person believe it or not. His comment may have been innapropriate, demeaning, mean-spirited, and not at all constructive, but I really don't think he meant to hurt anyone. He is blunt, to the point, and full of piss and vinegar. Not to mention I think he might be the type that likes to stir things up a bit. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is can we all just put this behind us and make peace? Kumbaya? Anyone?

We should all get together, fry up a couple pounds of bacon, and move past this.

By the way, how fucking awesome is the new single?

    Haha, alright then. But I'm a vegetarian, I don't eat bacon. D:

Me too and that white dress, but I have to admit I love a good BLT. And aren't you snowed in mpw33? Considering I live in Oregon, getting together may not be feasible, but it is a nice gesture. I love the new single and am going on iTunes right now to get it. I can't resist the free mp3 of This Losing.

You live in Oregon? I live in Seattle! Pacific Northwest, represent! But, oh my word, this version of This Losing is so amazing. It blew me away.

Mika, Nigel might not have meant his comments to come across in a certain way, but they did come across that way. There were 3 different threads affected by his comments. Guys, this board is moderated so if I feel someone is making inflammatory statements, I'll address it.

Since Nigel wanted to start this thread, I will let you all know that I had PM'd him to just ask he consider his tone. Tone doesn't always translate well on the Internet. Instead of responding to me directly, he chose to start this thread. I'm definitely all for putting it behind us but I do want *everyone* to feel comfortable posting here. If anyone wants to continue this conversation, please PM me.

I'm not snowed in, but there is a thick layer of ice on everything. My poor dog is having a hell of a time just taking a pee.

Oh no, mpw33. Your poor dog! We get ice storms here too. Hope Mother Nature turns on the defrost button for you soon. And yes, and that white dress, I am in Portland. Love Seattle. Steven told me they will be touring in the US and definitely coming to Portland, possibly in April. Yay! I can't imagine they wouldn't be coming to Seattle too. See you in another thread (I think this one has been shut down?) - I smell the bacon from here....

Whoa, April? I thought it would be later than that. A few friends and I are planning on following them down the coast for their next tour. Very much looking forward to it.

Is this thread being shut down? Hasn't happened yet. O:

Well, he didn't say they'd be in Portland in April. I guess that came out wrong. I think he meant the tour would start in April. I'm hoping their Feb 15th announcement will be about the US tour. Following them down the coast sounds awesome! Maybe I'll see you at the Portland show? I really am a nice person, I swear!

Dude, you all need to move to SoCal. I'm "suffering" because it gets down to 50 degrees at night and I'm freezing my ass off! Plus, if you move to the L.A. area you can be close to the band...you never know when they'll do a show at a small venue... Keep in mind that you'll have to learn to love (real) Mexican food, you'll most likely end up buying an annual Disney SoCal residents pass at some point in your life, and you'll probably visit the beach often but never go in the water....unless you want to risk getting sick.

I was born in SoCal, actually. Lived in Escondido til I was 5. Most of my family's still down there (San Diego, San Clemente, El Cajon, Coto de Caza, etc). My dad used to surf in La Jolla. But I really love the NW. It's really pretty here. No kidding about the Mexican food though! There's nothing like it. It would be cool to see the band play at a smaller local venue, but sadly no plans to move there anytime soon.

OH. Okay. That makes sense. And the west coast is usually at the end of the tour. You will almost definitely see us at the Portland show! We'll be the ones making fools of ourselves in the front row.

And, LAIDinUSA, 50 degrees is nothing. I had to scrape ice off my car this morning! But I can't complain, at least it's not snowpocalype here. I would love to live in LA for at least a little while. And I work for the Disney corporation so I already get several free tickets. :P

Why does going in the water make you sick?

the whole thing about suffering in 50 degree weather was kind of a joke, hence the quotation marks. i got in my car this morning and it was 39 degrees...and that is COLD for SoCal residents. we're spoiled. i know.

the reason you might get sick if you go into the water at L.A. beaches is because....it's dirty! our beaches are pretty contaminated. whenever Heal the Bay releases it's beach report card L.A. beaches get low or failing grades. it's not like toxic or whatever, but stomach illness, eye infections, and skin rashes have been known to occur. i don't know about other areas or other states but around here, around spring/summertime, when beach tourism is at it's highest, signs will be posted on beaches that display the grade of the water and advisories warning people of the risks of taking a dip

LAID, I totally know what you mean! I'm such a baby when it comes to the cold! 39 is way too cold, I much prefer 59 - 79 degrees!

And the Orange County beaches aren't much better! We don't go in the water much either.

Funny how this went from censorship to talking about polluted beaches and the weather. I think Nigel got abducted by aliens. He's not answering any of my messages. Anarchy Burger Hold the Government!

Congrats and that white dress. Pro-fence, hahaha! And yes, the weather is monumentally important because I am well aware of a few of you keeping an eye out for bikini season. Don't worry, we secretly all are.

How come whoever is in charge of the TATE fb page deletes all comments left directly on the wall?

They don't - to see them, you just have to choose the option to see posts by everyone - top right of the feed. I've just done that and there are loads of comments there from fans.
