Hey, I'm the vocalist of an upcoming Long Beach, California local band. Airborne Toxic Event is one of my/our favorite bands and biggest inspiration music-wise. Well, I'm inclined to be cruel, because I'm ALWAYS inclined to be cruel, but honestly, it's pretty good for a bunch of kids in the garage. I was planning on mocking it. I'm not preordering any albums yet, but it's an impressive start.
Practical points:
The guitar on The Shuffle kills the vocals.
Your lyrics are very literal and don't reflect much emotion, but that's just because you're so young.
Too much use of the echo effect, it shouldn't be there at all.
Upcoming doesn't mean the same thing as up and coming, and if you're telling us you're a Long Beach band, it means you're a local band. Don't know if it's possible to be a Long Beach national band, unless Long Beach secedes from the United States.
