I figured I'd start another thread where we can talk about the LA Origins tour. Who's going, where we are traveling from, plan meet-ups, share rides, whatever you'd like. :-)

Excited to go, though! Just have to see how I can get the time off from work...

I'm going! I have the season tickets but not sure how many of the concerts I'll be able to get to. I know I will definitely go to the Thursday and Friday concerts. I haven't missed any of their LA concerts in the last couple of years. The thought of missing any of the 5 shows is killing me! I'm 25 miles from Downtown LA so I don't have to travel too far. I'd love to meet up! Let me know.

I purchased Two Season Passes for the LA Origin Concerts and now I found out that I cant even attend their first concert at the Satellite because the venue is a strictly 21+ and Im only 19. I would really hate to miss one of their concert for something so stupid.

dm, at least you got tickets. i tried to get a pass at 9:00AM exactly and the site said it was down for maintenance or something. then when i was able to get in at 9:03 all the passes sold out. i seriously didn't think they would sell out THAT fast. i've been getting screwed out of tickets and pre-sells left and right. first Coachella sold out, yesterday my MvC3 special edition pre-order didn't come in, and today the LA pass sold out. this sucks...

Yay! I'm glad there's a thread about this. Me and a few others are driving down from Seattle to attend. And don't worry, dmBoston, we are in the same boat as you. We are probably just gonna dance around on the street outside the venue.

And, LAIDinUSA, we might have an extra season pass. I'll find out for you by next week.

Aww, dm, are you sure it's 21+ for the satellite? That sucks, I was gonna take my 19 year old daughter. Even if the venue is normally 21+ maybe the show will be all ages...

It says 21 on the website's description of the event. And Anna said on twitter it's up to the venue. Your daughter can come dance around with us in the street?

White dress, if you get that pass for me that would be so awesome. I'd be forced to be your new best friend. And if The Satellite doesn't let you in I'll bring you some rum so you can like mad out in the street

Haha, sounds like a plan. I will get back to you as soon as I can. My group is going to figure everything out on Monday so I will definitely offer this as a good solution for the fate of the pass.

LAID, if white dress can't help you out, maybe I can... Let me know, especially since I don't think my daughter(s) will want to go to all 5 shows. We'll work out something...

Damnit, why don't we have NYC people who can work things out!

I'm really beginning to doubt Woody Allen's comparison of NYC to LA: "the only cultural advantage is that you can make a right turn on a red light"

You can't turn right on a red in L.A.? That's good to know!

No, he was saying the only advantage to being in LA was that you could make a right on a red. Which, come to think of it, I have no idea if that's true. It's from Annie Hall. Which is an actual comedic film, not a 90 minute build up to hitting Will Ferrel in the nuts.

Apparently I have a lot of negativity.

Yes, you can make a right on a red light as long as you come to a complete stop and then yield to oncoming traffic.

I will not yield! Compliance is the smiling diplomat of surrender!

Was your previous inference that you could just squeal through every right turn on red, because that whole stopping and yielding thing is less about law and more about "oh god a bus"

Not at all. When you quoted, "the only cultural advantage is that you can make a right turn on a red light" I thought that meant you could turn on a red in New York but not Los Angeles.

Nah. You can in Jersey, though! In New York, you can barely make a right on green. Well, actually half of the streets are one way, so you often can't make a right at all!

I love how this thread went from the LA tour to traffic signals and right turns. :-D

I'll be coming from Orange County, by the way. As the week gets nearer, we'll have to figure out a way to meet up either beforehand, afterward, or to queue together or something.

Definitely! I'll have to count on the California natives for places to meet because I've no idea where anything is.

I emailed airbornemerch@gmail.com about the age limit for the satellite club and received an email right after I purchased my season passes and they told me that the Satellite is a 21+ venue and that I wouldnt be able to attend.

I have tickets for El Rey in LA but missed out on The Troubador. And how do you get Season Passes?

Tatelvr, the season passes went on sale a week ago last Wednesday. There were only 50 tickets total. They sold out in about 7 minutes or so.

I'm going to have an extra ticket for the Satellite show for sure. I'd like to give it to someone from here. Just PM me and we can firm something up.

Edit: I've already been PM'd about the Satellite show. If anyone else wants to PM me in case the first person falls through, they can, but I'm pretty sure the ticket is taken. :)

If anyone is selling an extra ticket to any of their LA shows I'd be happy to take it off your hands, ohh except for the satellite show I'm not 21 yet =/. I'm pretty bummed that I didn't get to buy tickets, they sold out really quick!!
