    So today was the rip 50 on studio brussels (a Belgian radio station). It was a list of the 50 most missed artists. Kurt Cobain was number 1, I don't agree with that but who am I.
    Maybe something interesting to talk about. Which artists do you miss most? My top 3 would be:
    * Freddie Mercury
    * Elliott Smith
    * Johnny Cash

    I know, a bit cliché, maybe I should go and listen to my parents records more. I do miss classical composors, I feel like music has become to easy. There aren't that many musicians who think like: "How would it sound like if I had a full orchestra" but more "My music goes deep. It has two guitar lines and a bass line and drums".

    The list can be found here, with a short describtion (in Dutch though).

    In no particular order... Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Syd Barrett, Rick Wright, Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain (yeah he's on my list, not sure he's number 1 - but how does one rate such a thing, really?), Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Jim Morrison. OK I wasn't alive when some of them were but I still miss them ;-)

    I'm a huge Kurt Cobain fan so yeah I'd have to agree. Kurt was a really great composer and he said shortly before he died that he wasn't sure how much more he could do with his Nirvana guitar sound and vocals so he was exploring other song ideas - unfortunately we'll never know what he would've created. John Lennon of course, Jimi Hendrix, Bon Scott, John Bonham.

    I would have to say Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, and John Denver. All chosen for mainly nostalgic reasons. John Denver and Johnny Cash were a huge part of my childhood.

    Fun fact, a good friend of mine grew up on the same street as one of the members of Nirvana and they used to play in his garage.

    John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Stevie Ray Vaughan. There are others I miss as well, but these are the ones who died way too young.

    No arguments at all on the names out there, but one guy I miss and think about what a lost talent would be Michael Hutchence.

    I'd have to point out again that we need John Lennon back. Stevie Rae, too.
