    Hey Guys,

So I'm from the UK and I can see already that we have a bit of a fan base from all over the world so I was thinking that perhaps we should just explain ourselves a little bit so we can all get to know each other. I reckon as a basic bio thing say: who you are, where you're from and where you first heard of TATE.

    So here goes:

I'm Steph, I'm from the UK and part of the 'Steph and Sean' superfan fanbase in the UK :D (I think we were the first lol!) I am 20 years old and a University student. I first heard of the Airborne Toxic Event on Myspace about 2 years ago. We finally got to see them in Camden, London about 6 months later which is where the Tshirt creations started... (I have about 10 homemade TATE tees now...) We see them at least once everytime they came over here to the UK, we plan to see them in Paris and Wales next year :O.

For more info go to: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xlDZqFrBWZE
This is us in Southampton, talking to TATE on the streets... suprised we didn't get mugged to be honest!

    Peace and Love

I think you already know me Steph. ;)

I'm Sean, I'm from the UK as well, first heard of Airborne in Summer 2006 through mySpace, been following the band ever since. Met them for the first time at NME Koko in London and "Steph and Sean" have been friends with the band ever since.

I'm a University Student, but that tells you nothing about me does it. Leonard Cohen is amazing! TATE are my fave band. I like movies, a little too much, and love LA although I don't live there.

Again for more info check this out:

Ask me if you want to know anything :)

Hey guys my first name is Patrick and im from New Jersey, U.S.A. I love tate and i first saw them when they opened for one of my other favorite bands The Fratellis in new york city this past June. Even though i live in the U.S many the bands i listen to are from the U.K and Ireland. I'm 17 and in high school and i've seen TATE twice and will be seeing them two more times in march i can't wait they are amazing live, and i think it's great how they talk to their fans after the shows.

Hey Steph and Sean are you guys the fans from the U.K videos? If you were that must have been awsome to hanging out with them. I look forward to getting to know everyone on the website.

    Long Live TATE

    Hello everyone. :]

My name is Kelly and I live in Southern California, closer to S.D. than L.A. though. Eighteen, University student as well. I first saw/heard of TATE when they opened for The Fratellis in San Diego (first show I ever went to, ever - terribly exciting). Well, the Fratellis were my favorite band but now, I have a new favorite... I think you know who has taken that spot.

I saw them for the second time yesterday at Knotts Berry Farm (!!!!) It was amazing seeing them when I actually knew (and loved) their music. I plan on going to every show I can in the future.

Hope to talk to you all more in the future :] you all seem very nice.

and i love that you guys made your own shirts! i was seriously considering doing that but i'll have to wait a bit first.

My name is Wes and live in Burlington ON, which is about 30 min from Toronto. I'm 34 and I just discovered TATE about 6 weeks ago and they quickly have become on of my favourite bands ever. This album is amazing, if only i could get the acoustic stuff I have seen on youtube. I just got tickets to the toronto show and am so very stoked about it. The only problem is the show is in March. Soo long, very long to wait.

My name is Sharon. I'm 50 years old and have a very eclectic music collection. I detest the "Classic Rock" stations and am grateful for the few remaining independent radio stations.
I just heard "Sometime around Midnight" for the first time on Christmas night on WBRU, Providence, R.I.and was immediately hooked. The music and lyrics are amazing and the sparseness of the instrumentation is a perfect compliment to the plaintive vocals. I'm looking forward to the arrival of the cd. which I purchased Christmas night. I'm hoping to catch your live show in Boston, but would love to see you play Lupo's in Providence. Maybe the BRU crew from Providence can get something going. Here's hoping.

ok, just noticed you can't edit posts...so...I will just provide a wee 'addendum'. My name is Tara, I moderate The Bravery's messageboard and found out about this band via their mutual manager. I have been utterly hooked ever since. Missed the last couple of shows in Boston recently, but FINALLY have a chance to seem them soon. However, the idea of seeing them in Paris is PHENOMINAL!!!!! Ugh, what I would give....

I'm Mandy, and I'm from Newark - the one in the UK not USA. I'm a project manager with a mad passion for music, particularly live music. I was introduced to TATE by a friend who does some freelance music journalism work in the US, and have been keeping them on my radar for nearly a year. About 4 months ago I got totally hooked, and once I found out that they were coming to the UK I just got far too excited.

I'm addicted to live shows - I saw TATE 6 times in November (and look forward to seeing them later on this month), and did about 40 gigs last year in total (I think....I lost count).

Hey, I'm Kate, I'm 36 and another newcomer - heard TATE on the radio (good old BBC 6Music) just after Christmas and had one of "those" moments. Wifey thinks I love "Sometime Around Midnight" more than her at the moment!

Gutted that the London gig is sold out, but have just convinced a friend that the band are worth driving to Norwich for (on a week night!) so we're hiring a car and going on the 22nd of this month! It looked cheaper than Paris ;-)

Hey Kate - you should head up to Nottingham for a good night out on Saturday 24th then - cheap rail tickets and cheap(ish) hotels.

Nottingham was considered, but there were diary clashes ahoy and it started getting complicated etc etc. And I wanted to get some tickets in my hand asap!!

    hello everyone!

well, i am blaming mandy (see her above!!) for getting me hooked on TATE....we are gig going buddies of some standing and she told me about this american band that i really should get into...funnily enough, they were friends of mine already on myspace, but i somehow never listened to them (i think i must have heard about them thru franz ferdinand-another of my fave bands)...but now, i just cant keep away from them!!

i think i have seen them about 6 times....most of them with mandy...and i am looking to see them at least another 4 times when they are back in the uk at the end of the month/next month-sooooo cannot wait!!

not only are all the members of TATE incredible musicians and amazing live, but they are some of the most down to earth, really some of lifes really cool, nice people! i think they really go out of their way to say hi to us, their fans and just hang out-that goes such a long way to earning some lifelong fans, i reckon!!

so, hope they keep it up....and get all the success they so obviously deserve!
    rock on TATE! haha

Hi! I'm Gill, and I was introduced to this band's music by Mandy late last year ... was lucky enough to see the band twice when they were in the UK in November 08 and I was hooked. Specially after hearing "Sometime around Midnight" - that was it. I love that song.

This band are fabulous live, so energetic, and so polite and friendly to speak with after gigs. I can't wait to see them again in the next few weeks when they come back to the UK; I'm going to Leeds and to Derby and am wondering if I can squeeze Manchester in as well now! I went to my first of their gigs with Mandy at York, but took my husband to the Sheffield gig and now he loves this band too.

I was interested to read that Steph and Sean make their own t-shirts - I've got some t-shirts I've made for when I see other bands and I've been thinking over the past couple of weeks, what design to make for a TATE shirt. Might even make a start tonight (considering I want to be able to wear it at the Leeds gig, I ought to get on with it!).

Well, hope you all enjoy your up-coming gigs and maybe we will meet up with each other at some point.

    Best wishes
    Gill

    Hey everyone,
I'm Peg and I live near Toronto, Canada (see you at the El Mo, Wes!). I searched TATE on youtube in October last year, after reading a blurb about them on the local radio station's web page (edge.ca). I instantly forwarded the vids to my brother and we've been hooked on this band ever since! We bought 6 tickets the minute they went on sale, after seeing/reading that TATE sell out just about everywhere they play in the US/UK and we definitely did not want to miss out! I am way too excited! March is sooo far away!

Hi Miss M (Molly) - yes, I'll be at Leeds with my husband Tony. Manchester is going to be more a case of "I'll have to wait and see til nearer the time" but obviously I'm fairly certain I can get there cos I have bought our tickets.

Look forward to seeing you at Leeds!

    Hello,
My name is nate. I am from St.Paul Minnesota and am a college student. I first learned of TATE last summer when I just came across them on youtube. Ever since then I have loved them and I went to see them at First Ave. in October. I also have tickets to see them at the triple rock Feb. 29 so im pretty pumped about that. Good to see they finally got these forums up. I havnt really been able to find many people who have heard of TATE so hopefully I'll be able to find some TATE fans who live around me.

Hi, I'm Julie. And guess what - I was introduced to TATE by Mandy!

Saw them a couple of times on the last tour and hope to see them on the upcoming one, but the timing of the local gigs isn't great. Love seeing them live and want to catch a few more small venue gigs.

Hi, all. My name is Cory. I am a native southern Californian, born and mostly raised down in San Diego (Hillcrest born, Mission Hills and Bird Rock raised). I have lived near Pittsburgh, PA since 2000. I am 33 and male.

My music tastes include Arcade Fire, Frightened Rabbit, Matt and Kim, and Mates of State, and many others. Music is a mood thing for me. What hit the spot yesterday might depress me today. Hence I am also open to, say, classical and mariachi, among others.

This band I've known only since their recent and well-recieved Letterman gig.

Outside of music, I am an avid footy fan (Manchester City FC, Seattle Sounders FC) and follow Pitt's gymnastics team.

    Name - Neil (obviously)
Age - 44 (probably old enough to know better)
    Location - Norfolk, England
    Status - Married, one daughter

Was introduced by mate Andy on petewylie.com forum and came down to London to see the first of 4 Dublin Castle gigs in Nov 08, also saw in Norwich last week.

Grew up thru punk, new wave, new romantic, indie, and back again - still listening to all of those genres. Season Ticket holder at Norwich City for my sins and dabble with guitar.

Look forward to meeting some of you at future gigs (if able to get a ticket that is !!!)

    Hi everyone.
My name is Colin and I am a 28 year old Londoner.
I got into TATE last year, I am a big American football fan and was lucky enough to take a scholarship coaching kids in Florida for 4 months between August and December.
I married 2 years ago and whilst I took my opportunity in the US my wife had to stay in the UK. I found out, through friends, that she was having an affair. I was broken hearted at this, devastated, and then I heard sometime around midnight on a local indie station in Tampa and it rang true to my heart.
I moved back to the UK before Christmas and am in my old apartment whilst my wife has now moved out. I'm trying to get my life back on track and music is on of the big things that helps me.

Other bands I like are King of Leon, Hootie and the Blowfish, Live, Alakline Trio, AC/DC, Stone Gods, Green Day, Offspring, Crash Test Dummies, The Eagles, Hot Leg, the Verve. There are so many more but these spring to mind at present.

TATE has hit a real chord with me. I haven't been this excited about a new band in years.

Thanks Steph...it's hard, I don't usually talk about personal stuff like this online but then TATE are a big part of what's been happening with me recently so it's kinda relevant. Talking about it helps!

Sorry to hear about your wife, Col, hope listening to this band helps. It's very hard to deal with, isn't it.

Neil, I smiled at your earlier post when you discussed your age as being "old enough to know better". :-) You're not the oldest one on here (by a couple of years!). I think we should never be old enough to know better. My family have stopped wondering when I'll grow out of music and gigging - it's part of me and I can't imagine ever wanting to stop, despite having a bad back and knee (car accident injury 10 years ago) - I still get there and enjoy seeing bands - preferably in small venues. And I still have to be down at the barrier (unless there is too much pushing and shoving - then I move back out of the way). Luckily my husband enjoys it all too - but I've had to train him over the years - he was never into all this stuff when we first met! LOL.
