@Tyler: In this case it was a problem of the management so I missunderstood the word secrurity.

Hi all. I'm Courtney from the Detroit area. I've been a TATE fan since 2009. I got to see them in concert at House of Blues in Cleveland (thanks to my sister for road tripping with me). At the Cleveland show I got to meet Mikel. My sister was holding my camera as Mikel and I were talking. My sister leans over and whipsered to me to kiss him. I turned to Mikel and asked if I could kiss him. He laughed and said "Sure." I about died. I kissed him on the cheek. He was a good sport about it.

I am going to see them tomorrow. They are FINALLY coming to Detroit! I am SO pumped. I keep telling my friends that Mikel is going to remember me from the Cleveland show (a girl can dream can't she?).

I am really impressed with how absolutely cool TATE is with their fans. It was super cool of them to do a meet and greet with the fans after the show I was at in Cleveland. I;m hoping I can talk to them a bit after the show.

Glad I finally got around to joining a message board about my favorite band. Cheers!

Hello everyone! My name is Sara, and I'm from the suburbs of good ol' Chi-town, but currently residing in the suburbs of Milwaukee because of school. I'm 18 years old, and have been a TATE fan since 2008. I was lucky enough to see them live for the first time for my birthday this year, and attended both of the Chicago shows back in May...and I just bought my ticket for the upcoming show in Chicago in November. They were easily the best live show I've seen (ad I've been to quite a few shows), and I CAN'T WAIT to see them again <3
My favorite TATE song is "All I Ever Wanted", but I can honestly say I love every song they've done...which doesn't happen often, as I'm very picky about my music.

So yes, that's about it :] Haha.

The Echo, Neda Benefit, Los Angeles, 5/25/10
The Regency Ballroom, San Francisco, 9/19/10
    Ace of Spades, Sacramento, 6/16/11
And hope to see them at The Fillmore, San Francisco, 10/21/11

I feel so new to all this. Okay, so hi. My name is Lani (pronounced 'Lawn-ee' for anyone unsure and curious). I'm from El Monte, California, about twenty minutes out of Downtown LA. I first came across TATE when I heard the intro to Sometime Around Midnight on the radio about a year ago. I've been obsessed ever since. I love the lyrics, I love the music, and I find every single member to both be breathtakingly gorgeous and talented, though I must admit I kinda favor Mikel, Anna, and Stephen :3

I liked Neil's format, even if it was from two years ago:

I'm a big music fan and I enjoy too many bands to list all of them. When I am not at work or finishing up my grad school studies, I'm very active in the fan communities for bands that I love. My two other favorite bands are Muse and Nine Inch Nails. I'm a moderator for Muse's site and I help report and archive news for Nine Inch Nails.

I first heard of The Airborne Toxic when I heard Sometime Around Midnight on the radio in early 2008. When I first heard it, Mikel's voice reminded me of early Neil Diamond, which I loved! Of course, the damn radio station did not say who the band was. I went home and looked up Live 105's website to try and track down who performed it. Nothing. I went on a road trip for work and heard the song again! I wrote down some lyrics to search for in case the station didn't say who played it (which they did not) and googled it as soon as I got back home. Finally! I spent that entire night on YouTube watching every video I could find and falling in love with this band, their lyrics, the sound. I tried to attend a number of their shows that were playing in my area, but I couldn't make it because of work conflicts :(. I had given up on trying to catch them live.

Fast forward a couple years. A more flexible work schedule allows me to travel. I'm stuck following Muse on tour, then find out that Airborne Toxic is playing the same festival that Muse is: Voodoo Fest! I do everything to make sure I'm there for their set. It was amazing and I fell in love with the band all over again. I walked by the Pablove Foundation's charity tent earlier in the day and found out that TATE would be doing a meet and greet there. I heard of The Pablove Foundation through Nine Inch Nails' touring bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who works with Dangerbird records and was close friends with Pablove's founder, Jeff. Funny how all my top music interests combined that day. Anyways, I talked to the lady in charge of the tent and told her that I didn't know TATE was a Dangerbird Record artist, which is all who had been at the tent before. She said they were not, they were just friends and wanted to help the cause. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever. I met the band and they were all so genuinely sweet and lovely. I promised myself that I'd see every local-ish show in my area from now on no matter what, and so far I have done all except one that I just could not work out the logistics to. But yes, forever a fan! <3

Sorry if that was lengthy. :D

    Oh where to start?

I first heard of the Airborne Toxic Event a few years back before their first record came out when they were unsigned but had recorded Sometime Around Midnight. I used to know a guy who ran the radio show at my university (UOIT in Oshawa, Ontario for those curious) and he got the song from a friend of his in L.A. Suffice to say I fell in love with the song and became determined to find more. When the first record came out, they became my favourite band - knocking Poets of the Fall out of first place, but only barely!

I've seen them twice in concert, and have had my expectations demolished each time. They're the embodiment of humility and awesome on stage. They don't let the fact that they're immensely talented get to their heads and are more real then other musicians. The first time I saw them was at the Opera House in Toronto, which is kind of funny because I had written Mikel an email about the song "The Graveyard Near the House" which when I first heard it, more or less answered a question that many people said is unanswerable: What is love? The lyrics to that song encapsulates EXACTLY what love is, and is beautiful in every way. The Toronto show was sold out at the time, and I just wished the band a good show, but the day before the show, I got an email back from Mikel and he got me put on the guest list plus 4! Best night ever.

    Ok let's add another one!

I first heard the Airborn Toxic Event a few years ago. I was on maternity leave so I was up at all hours of the night with my baby. I had Direct TV at that time. The were airing a show that TATE had done I think in like Texas or something. Anyways, I ended up staying up to watch the whole show and I watched it every other time it was on. I bought their first CD not too long after that and listed to it from start to finish multiple times in a day. I first saw them in June of 2011 at The Ace of Spades here in Sacramento. They were awesome! I got their second CD and again listened to it from start to finish multiple times a day. I saw them again in San Francisco at the Fillmore in October of 2011 and again just last week in Sacramento again at The Ace of Spades.

Their first album got me through the sadness of leaving my newborn at home and a year later their second album is helping me get through my divorce. The lyrics of each song seem to go together so naturally, I just love it. They are a great band to see live. I consider myself lucky to have had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times in one year.

Melissa Travis, age 32, and besides my husband, I'm pretty sure I'm one of their few fans in Oklahoma. Shockingly, Oklahoma is one of the last places to know about or hear anything new...insert sarcasm punctuation here..However, Oklahoma City does have a pretty decent local music scene along with some cute little venues. It would be a dream to have them here. And maybe it could wake some people up!! They did come to Tulsa a couple years back, but I missed that show. Damn kid!

I've seen them in Portland, OR and Dallas, TX. My husband found their first album in 2008 and paid a whopping $8.00. We have been hooked ever since. They make me smile, cry, dance, scream, run, and generally just go bat-shit crazy.

Hi, I'm Emma from Canada! I first heard TATE when they played Sometime Around Midnight on my local radio station. I was an instant fan. I got both of their albums last summer. I adore all of their songs, but Sometime Around Midnight is my very favourite. I am a singer and songwriter, and I often play TATE songs on my guitar, and they are SO fun to play!

That's the reason why I'm learning guitar:
I know that playing TATE songs MUST be fun :D
