   Lately, I have been listening to certain songs and thinking, "It would be awesome if The Airborne Toxic Event did a cover of that."

   Here are two songs that I think that the band should cover:

   "You Had Me at Hello" by A Day to Remember (Add some soulful viola and duet vocals from Anna and Mikel and it would sound even more beautiful than the original.)

   "Bulls Make Money, Bears Make Money, Pigs Get Slaughtered" by Chiodos (I don't think that the band could necessarily cover the entire song, but I do think that they could cover the first 35 seconds. Maybe Anna could sing the vocal part, since the singer's voice is so high-pitched in the original song. I only suggest this song because I think that it might sound good with Anna's voice - I am aware of the fact that it is a far cry from the music that the band normally plays.)

   Anyone else have any songs that they would like to see covered?

   Pretty Green by The Jam - they would really lift it out of (class) fixed chords and vocals

   I thought of a few more:

   "O Valencia!" by The Decemberists (It tells a story of love and loss, and I think that it would be a good cover for the band.)

   "Culling of the Fold" by The Decemberists (It has string parts in it, which would sound excellent if Anna played them using some viola effects.)

   "The Engine Driver" by The Decemberists (Quiet song with female backing vocals that would sound even better if Anna sung them. Additionally, the accordion could be replaced with viola.)

   "3rd Planet" by Modest Mouse (I read in an interview that Mikel really likes this song, and it has a short string part that could be extended.)

   "The Hazards of Love 3 (Revenge!)" by The Decemberists (It's kind of a creepy song, but the vocal range in this song almost matches Anna's.)

   Too early for this topic isn't it.....Mikel wrote over 100 songs when he was holed up for a year with his guitar.Let him tell ALL his wonderful stories first,& when they run out.....he'll have written 100 more.

   Bands usually do covers when they've run out of ideas.....no chance of that happening when your singer/songwtiter is actually A WRITER BY TRADE...

   Only found this band 6 days ago,what i like most is Mikel is 'telling a story' in most songs wheras most artists pick words out of nowhere to ryhme with other words,& the songs are just that songs....not songs with a story in them.

   AAAAHHHH,Mikel,you are a gem,previously undiscovered,but now you have come out into the world with your friends,with your stories,& made TATE come alive,I PREDICT THIS BAND WILL BE HUGE WITHIN 3 YEARS.....HUUUUGGGGEEEEEEEEE.!!!!!!!!!

   Are you suggesting they're out of ideas now, then, since they've covered "Goodbye Horses," and "Ask"? I don't think it means they're out of ideas; obviously TATE/Mikel isn't.

   I think it's just a celebration of their influences and songs/artists they respect.
   Both of these covers are strong, different interpretations of the originals, that mesh well with their current setlist.

   Yeah,good point....i guess all bands tinker with covering their influences.

   Didn't know about the covers they have already done,hey i'm flat out catching up on what they have done,only discovered them 6 days ago.

   Can't wait to get all their music on disc,close my eyes....& go on a few journeys with TATE.

   I'd let them cover something by THE CHURCH(Australian Band that are still going after 29 yrs).....Maybe "Almost with You" or "Electric Lash"(could amp that up Anna's violin).

   Hope to listen to TATE for next 29 years....AAAAHHHHHH

   "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot. they made a joke about playing that song at the Neda show so now I feel ripped off and want them to play. SO PLAY IT!!! but they should do an orchestral version

    haha, I love their jokes about other songs, like that video on youtube, I think it's right before they play 'missy' where Mikel jokes about covering 'total eclipse of the heart' =D it's funny, shame I can't find it anymore =(

    -Wicked Game by Chris Isaac
    -We Used To Vacation by Cold War Kids
    -Table For Glasses by Jimmy Eat World
    -Lux Aeterna composed by Clint Mansell
    -Dream Lover by Bobby Darin
    -Three Sheets To The Wind by Sage Francis (cuzI want to hear TATE bust this rockin' rap)
    -The Best Of Times by Sage Franics (spoken word & rap that I think Mikel can pull off nicely)
    -Only On Dreams by Weezer
    -At Last by Etta James (do you think Mikel can pull this off?)

    THey should cover a Tom Petty song, for some strange reason I think they would sound pretty nice playing "American Girl","Won't Back Down", "Learning to Fly". Knowing Airborne, they would make it own.
