Was at the Glasgow gig last night. Have seen AET twice previously at QMU Glasgow. Absoulutely love this band and both previous gigs were fantastic. Something missing at the Arches. Acoustics werent great (which I doubt AET had much control over). The show just ended with no goodbye, no end comment. Was as though something went wrong or someone had taken ill. Crowd were all left a bit puzzled. Can anyone shed some light ?? Could'nt help but feel a bit dissapointed last night.

Yes it was a bit bizarre at the end. Was a good show up until then but it was a flat way to end.

Not a great venue. Play the barrowlands next time. you were made for that venue.

Don't think the Barrowlands is what it once was to be honest. I have seen a lot of good bands at the 02Academy in Glasgow. Think AET would be brilliant in there - mostly because the sound is perfect in there. Shed Seven was the last band I seen there and the sound was outstanding. Be good to hear from AET on the Arches gig, to clear up what happened.

    AET? ;-)

A friend of mine said that the sound was horrendous last night and that the band weren't happy. What a shame :-(

A delayed start, terrible sound and around one hour and fifteen minutes of gig. Not up to TATE standard by any manner of means. Gig came to a very abrupt end with no 'cheerio'. Fourth Scottish gig for me. The O2 Sauchiehall St, The Pleasance, Edin, QMU and the Arches lastnight. I cant fault the venue, as I saw the Avett Brothers there a couple of months ago and they blew the roof off the place. No sound problems at all.

I think the Glasgow fans deserve an explantion because despite the obvious problems the guys were having the fans STILL had the place jumping. It was great to be part of it. Thanks troops xx

just got back from last nights gig in glasgow your crowd up there were brilliant helped make the show although the sound was poor (especially compared to the other shows) and there was a couple of technical issues which i think the band was upset about and they did end abruptly bit of a dissapointing end to the four concerts i saw (i missed dublin) but overall 1 helluva week !!!

Being only 5ft 1" doesn't help at gigs,so didn't see much of the stage at all last night, but were we where standing didn't help also. Great night though.

Ah, it wasn't just me then. I was disappointed with the show too but I think the guys did try to make the best of it. The sound was really poor and the other comments are right in that I think the band was annoyed at that. Mikel sounded like he was on helium at times but was still the consumate professional, the crowd surfing was brilliant. Anyone who saw them earlier in the year at QMU would also have been disappointed that they never came back out at the end. Perhaps there was just too much setting up needed after the support band (who were good) to get the mixing right? Still a huge fan though!!!

It's almost a week since the Arches gig and I'm still feeling so deflated. I've seen TATE seven times now and I have always felt uplifted after their shows but the Arches was truly terrible. I can’t blame the band; they did the best they could. But when it was announced that they were playing at the Arches I was filled with dread. I’ve been to gigs there before and the sound is awful and the floor unforgiving. With it being the only Scottish date, I feel for the people who had to travel to the gig. I travelled 75 miles which isn’t a lot when I read some people had come from Aberdeen and that there were people who had been at the London and Sheffield shows. I think about the people who hadn’t seen them play live before and wonder what they are thinking. It was the disappointment as well that there was no explanation given for walking off and then not coming out to greet fans afterwards which is one of the things I love about them. They are the only band I know that do that and I think it makes them even more special. It would be nice if they could post something up on the web-site to just explain what went wrong. I hope they will come back to Scotland soon to make up for the Arches. I would love it if they played at King Tut’s, maybe two nights with an album a night (I know, dream on!)
