Maybe I'm really late discovering the (old) songs of Daniel Johnston.
I have seen him the first time as he performed with "the swell season" in Austin City Limits. Downloaded the DVD some time ago and now had the time to take a look.
After that I tried to find out some background informations about Daniel. Read about his diseases.
It's really too bad he is not able to give us more. I don't find the words to explain what I feel about that...

I love The Swell Season a lot, and Glen Hansard. I have the film Once to thank for having heard of them as I didn't have a clue they existed before I saw it.

I love accoustic performances, a childrens choir and really touching songs as TATE also did.
I was wondering why he "ran" from the stage. It looks like he flees before it's to late or so.

I just found out about that documentary. But I'm afraid I will not really understand it, there's no german version. And in english I believe it will be difficult for me. But I will give it a try.

i saw Daniel live at The Music Box and it was one of the best shows i've ever seen! by the end of the show most everyone was in tears
