Is anyone heading to the show in Toronto next week? This will be my third time seeing them and I am pumped! I'm hoping they will play Strange Girl and The Graveyard Near the House. Those are the last two songs I have left to see them perform live. So if anyone from TATE is reading this, please make a note of it! Thanks!

On a side note, the last time TATE were in Toronto at the Opera House my wife and I had dinner at a restaurant down the street from the venue. We walked past a laundromat almost immediately across the street from the venue and swore we saw Daren doing laundry. I did a double-take and then kept walking. To this day I regret not going back and saying hi. At the time we were probably 90% sure it was him, but we were hungry and tight for time to get done eating before the show started. Too bad, opportunity missed!

Oh yes I did! I was front left in all the jumping. Was so much fun :D I can only hope it's not long until they come back. They know how to put on one hell of a show.

I was front centre - my right ear is still ringing. They'll be back cause they had a great time too and they tour so much.

I was pumped that that they played 'People Who Died' by the Jim Carroll Band in the encore. I saw them perform that song with The Henry Clay People and Red Cortez on stage a few years back when they were touring for their first album. Just an awesome show of entertainment! I'm also happy they played The Graveyard Near the House, their performance was great.

Did anyone hear what that guy actually said when Mikel and Noah gave him the finger? We were about to hear Innocence (one of my favorite songs) before that incident. I do however just love how passionate Mikel is with his music, because he wasn't in the right frame of mind he couldn't perform Innocence. Either way I was still impressed with the show and I can't wait until they are back!

Yes. Mikel was beginning to explain how being on the road is tough when the guy shouted out "Shut Up". So Mikel and Noah have him the finger but Mikel actually got a kick out of it and started to laugh. Then he said he was too happy to sing a sad song and they skipped it. I too was frustrated that we didn't hear it but the moment was funny and real. Other bands would have had a totally different response than they did.

Hahaha, well kudos to the wanker that gave everyone a laugh :P

Now the waiting begins until the next show. I wish they'd played for more than one night, I'd have gone to both! So far Toronto is kinda lacking in good concerts this year... 2010 was much better :S

the whole skipping innocence was very disappointing, part of the enjoyment of the thier live show is the interaction with the crowd, specifically Mikel....to have one person's comments impact the experience for the others does not seem fair. While I annoyed at the person who yelled, i think this one lands on the band, you are going to have a few people at every show that need to be ignored. Regardless, one of my favorite bands, great songs that tell real stories, eneregy filled shows, doin it on thier own feel via the website ticket sales and what I fail to understand is how i can only pay $15 to see them. The musical world is trully missing out on this GEM.

Drove down from Sudbury to see them and they did not disappoint! Absolutely amazing show and can't wait for them to return.

Need to bring more swag with you though.

PS - The Drowning Men completely blew my mind. I'd seen a couple of clips on YouTube but was not prepared for that level of awesome.

Thank you for mentioning the Drowning Men. They were awesome for sure. Not used to that from an opening act. They played like a main act.

Bear Snack and blacknails you definitely hit the nail on the head - they were really good. I heard that MONA was supposed to be there and I was kinda sad they weren't I love their album D:

We need a Toronto/GTA area fan meetup at some point. Maybe before next show we can plan something with the band!? :O It'd be interesting to meet all the other forum lurkers and interact with people as passionate as me about ATE.

    :)

My wife and I saw this show and loved it. found TATE on youtube by total mistake.... best mistake everrr. I waited 6 long weeks in the summer for the 4 signed albums to arrive. Needless to say in the ensuing weeks and lead up to the show I feared I might wear out the needle on my record player. we purchased two of the fleece lined hoodies from the show man im glad I did. Anything to support this talented group.Anyone ever wonder why an east LA band has fleece lined sweaters??
LOL either way thanks TATE I was a huge fan before the show and if anything your better live couldn't have ask for any better

PS. the clout at the back who so rudely interrupted Mikel telling us something before innocence said "shut up" to him. let me tell you if given the chance i can think of several things Id like to do to make people like that be quiet while an artist imparts a small token of information regarding their lives to an audience
