An unplugged performance for 107.7 The End’s Endfest at the Experience Music Project (EMP) in Seattle

good morning–
Wisconsin probably has more to offer than trees and flatlands, dreary mornings of rain slapping against the windshield while we drive these moribund highways — but we wouldn’t know it.
We played Chicago last night (for the first time) and the experience was nothing short of religious. Replete with wailing and stomping, speaking in tongues and false idols. ahem.
Tonight it’s Minneapolis. Then Seattle on Saturday, then we’re playing the Monolith festival in beautiful Denver, Colorado — Red Rocks, no less. Then Anaheim and the Wiltern. We used to talk about such things in hushed tones.
As of Tuesday, our record is available in selected stores on vinyl. We are simply tickled (that’s right, tickled) over it.
We will think of you as we drive these lonely highways. Tonight, for instance, we are playing the same club where Prince got his start. Ever seen Purple Rain? Yep. Totally.

good afternoon–
The hazy sky over the San Gabriel mountains makes the view from the van window look like some sort of post-modern water-color mash-up: equal parts pastoral landscape and industrial wasteland. Such thoughts drift lazily through one’s mind on days like this.
We are on our way to Arizona to play a series of shows in Tempe, Tucson and Phoenix.
